Comparing permanent and portable backup generators

On a daily basis, members of the ESL team are asked a variety of questions from their customers. One of the most common topics is: “Should we invest in a manual or automatic transfer switch?”  We are asked this question so often that our team partnered with Business Energy contributor Dan Rafter to create an informative article, which was published in Consulting Specifying Engineer and Powerline magazines.

We were thrilled that these reputable publications agreed that our piece contained information that is valuable to local businesses as they plan for their emergency backup power needs. Comparatively, permanent generator installation requires multiple permits, maintenance, standard periodic testing and on-site fuel storage is required.
